Best Cafes to Get Work Done in Buffalo NY | Laptop Friendly Cafes With Free WiFi

So, you’re on the hunt for a cafe to get some work done outside of an office (or off the couch) in Buffalo NY?

Whether you’re working from home (and looking to actually get out of that home) or looking for a laptop-friendly cafe to study in, we got ya covered.

The perfect cafe for getting work done has to meet certain criteria:

  • Enough seating (so you don’t feel like you’re taking up all.of.the.space with your laptop)
  • Bathrooms (because, well…nature calls)
  • Outlets for charging (for obvious reasons)
  • Reliable Wi-Fi (for even more obvious reasons)
  • Food options (so you don’t start running on a 24-hour caffeine diet)

So here’s a list of our favorite spots that won’t disappoint:

#1. Tipico

Location: 1084 Elmwood Buffalo, NY

I’m not quite sure what I like more about this cafe, their huge windows & natural light or their avocado toast. The staff is always so warm and welcoming and I usually don’t have a hard time finding an open table (all though they do get busy during peak hours).

BONUS POINTS: They roast their own coffee beans and they’ve been known to carry the best coffee in the city. Try it out & let us know what you think!

My favorite order while working: Avacado toast with a layer of white bean hummus underneath. YUM x100.

#2. Remedy House

Location: 429 Rhode Island St, Buffalo, NY

Remedy House is the shit…in the best way. The building alone is SO cool. My favorite part is definitely the outdoor seating in the summer and the fact that they also sell alcohol. So whether you need coffee or an adult bevy to help put some pep in your “get-work-done” step, they got your back.

BONUS POINTS: They’re open early (6am) and stay open a lot later than most cafes! (10pm or 11pm most days)

NOTE: Sometimes it’s hard to find a table, especially in the winter since the inside of the cafe is on the small side.

My favorite order while working: Their tartine or toast special. It’s delicious every single time.

#3. Five Points Bakery

Location: 44 Brayton Street, Buffalo NY

If Remedy House is too packed or you’re looking for a more quiet vibe, then walk a few feet down the street and you’ll be taken to the best Toast Cafe in all of Buffalo, NY.

Five Points Bakery is a fan fav for getting work done. It could be because of their awesome seating options or the fact that they bake all of their bread from scratch using local ingredients. Regardless, it’s a Buffalo gem.

My favorite order while working: Cinnamon raisin toast with peanut butter and sliced apple

#4. Organic 3 Cafe

Location: 4446 Main St Snyder, NY

Oooooh, guys, this cafe holds a special place in my heart. For no specific reason really, besides the fact that I LOVE the overall vibes of the place. The atmosphere is super inviting and the food is healthy & tasty.

I love this place when I’m trying to brainstorm or get out of a creative rut. Maybe it’s the avocado toast specials that get my inspiration flowing, but whatever it is, I dig it.

NOTE: They close earlier than most of the other cafes on the list (3:30PM)

BONUS POINTS: They DO have a parking lot, which almost none of the other cafes on the list do. So, that’s a plus all on its own!

My favorite order while working: Their avocado toast special (can you tell I’m a big toast person? lol)

#5. Public Espresso

Locations: 391 Washington St, Buffalo, NY & 2178 Seneca Street, Buffalo, NY

The people behind Public Espresso KNOW coffee. I remember when they first opened inside of the Hotel Layfette back in 2013. I had the one guy explain the science behind a pour-over and they’ve held a special place in my heart ever since.

Both locations have a TON of space for working, relaxing, and getting caffeinated.

NOTE: Parking can be a little tricky at both locations. The Hotel Layfette location usually requires paid parking, the Seneca Street location does not.

BONUS POINTS: They roast their own coffee & make their donuts from scratch!

My favorite order while working: Vlad’s Classic Sandwich with avocado instead of bacon and obviously….a donut 😉

#6. Kornerstone Cafe

Locations: 33 Elm Street, East Aurora NY & 701 Seneca St, Buffalo NY

Kornerstone has 2 cafe locations in the WNY area. Both of them carry the same menu, and both of them have the nicest staff on the planet.

Whether you’re in the mood for a fresh juice, acai bowl, or a hearty sandwich, they have options. Including vegetarian & vegan options!

Favorite thing about the Larkinville Location: ALL OF THE SPACE.

Favorite things about East Aurora Location: The comfy bench sitting area by the window!

BONUS POINTS: They roast their own coffee

My favorite order while working: PB&J Acai smoothie bowl or the breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, spinach, avocado, & tomato!

#7. Lancaster Coffee Co

Location: 24 Central Ave, Lancaster, NY

This is definitely a hidden gem in Lancaster. I haven’t found that a lot of people bring their laptops and work here, which is silly to me because it’s perfect! They have food and drink specials that change up regularly so there’s always something new to try here.

It’s also a great spot for meeting up with friends, colleagues or study buddies. It has a very “small town” vibe where it seems that everyone knows everyone, which is always a nice change of pace when I’m used to working, alone, at home!

NOTE: I usually post up at one of the seats by the window so I can leave the tables for other guests.

My favorite order while working: THEIR QUICHE IS THE BEST QUICHE EVER

#8. Comfort Zone Cafe

Location: 17 Main St, Hamburg, NY

Their name says it all. This cafe is super comfy and the food is pretty damn delicious. This cafe is definitely one of my favorite spots in the village of Hamburg when I’m trying to get some work done. The wifi is fast and they have a ton of options when it comes to coffee, lattes, teas, and other drinks.

NOTE: If you can’t find parking on the street, check out the parking lot next to the bank, a few steps away from the cafe!

My favorite order while working: Veggie Delight Sandwich with a cup of homemade soup OR the Zippity-Doo-Da breakfast sandwich
