Looking for ways to get creative or mix it up with your spirituality practices? Or maybe you’re new to the spiritual journey & are interested in getting your toes wet..

Whatever the case, guest post author Caili has you covered!
(more about Caili in the About the Author section at the end of the post)

Let’s dive into 5 ways to get creative & mix it up with your spirituality:

#1. Exercise

And I’m not just talking about yoga!

Whether you’re walking, cycling, or even lifting, you can use any kind of exercise to really release things.

Before beginning, set the intention for letting go of whatever you need to, and ask for your energy to be protected (you don’t want to pick up anyone else’s stuff while you’re open and letting go!).

Then, get moving!

Tap into whatever energy you’re ready to get rid of: fear, anxiety, grief, anger, etc.

Try to tap into where you hold this in your body, if you can’t, focus on whatever chakra is most closely related to this.

Here are some examples:

  • Fear = Root Chakra
  • Anxiety = Third Eye and/or Crown Chakra
  • Greif = Heart Chakra
  • Anger = Solar Plexus Chakra

On your out-breaths imagine this energy leaving your body through whatever area you’ve identified.

Imagine the inhale and movement pumping this out of you.

Don’t be afraid to let out any tears or noises that come up, crying and sound are beautiful expressions of release.

When you feel complete, be sure to drink lots of water and give yourself rest and self-compassion.

Dance is another great option for merging your spirituality with your exercise.

Whether it’s ecstatic dance or helping you grieve, just turning on whatever music suits your mood and dancing it out can be incredibly therapeutic and aligning!

#2. Introduce New Breath Techniques

Breathwork helps you connect back to your body.

Breath of Fire:

Warms the body to release toxins and strengthens the nervous system. Energetically, the technique helps stir up stagnant energy in the body and is great for release of negative emotions.

How to do it:

  • Take a full belly breath in through the nose.
  • Release (through the nose) about 25%.
  • Using only the diaphragm to forcefully pump breath in and out at a rapid pace.
  • Continue for at least one minute.

If you’d like an example of this, there are a ton on YouTube!

Box Breathing:

Box breathing is a simple technique that is great for relaxation, inviting in sleep, and can even stave off panic attacks.

How to do it:

  • Start by breathing in slowly, to a count of 4.
  • Hold the breath at the top for a count of 4.
  • Exhale slowly, for a count of 4.
  • Hold the breath out at the bottom for a count of 4.
  • Repeat at least 4 times, but you can repeat as many times as you need!

Kundalini Rising:

Kundalini is the creative life force energy that resides in the base of our spine. When awakened and moved throughout the body, we feel more energized and increase our manifesting and creative potential. This technique is a bit more technical but worth its weight!

How to do it:

  • Start by squeezing the muscle near your pelvic floor.
  • Squeeze and release this just to get a feel for it.
  • While taking a long & slow inhale, squeeze this muscle, subsequently squeeze the muscles of your lower abdomen, moving up to include your upper abdomen.
  • While taking this long, slow inhale and contracting the lower chakra muscles, envision the divine life force energy being pushed and propelled up the center of your body, all the way to the top of your head.
  • Hold for as long as you can before a slow, controlled exhale.
  • Do this at least 3 times.

If you’d like an example of this, there are a ton on YouTube!

*Pro Tip: This is a great breath to use before any sort of manifestation ritual!

#3. Intuitive Painting/Drawing

This one is pretty much exactly what it sounds like!

Grab the charcoal, paint, markers, or whatever medium you prefer (or are guided to) and get present with yourself.

Set whatever intention you have for your practice, NOT for the outcome of the painting or drawing.

So for example, something that would work here is “My intention is to invite peace,” rather than “My intention is to draw a dove”.

In fact, the quality of the painting itself is irrelevant, this is about the reconnection with spirit and self, and what comes through during the process of the work.

#4. Spiritual Healing

Energetic and spiritual healing are available in endless variety, right here in Western New York! Many are even available remotely!

Just a few such modalities include:

  • Past life regression therapy: this is a modality in which the patient is guided through a deep meditation in which they are able to uncover traumas from past lives that are impacting us in our present incarnation. Through this work we’re able to heal these traumas in order to move forward more easily in this life.
  • Holistically aligned hypnosis: therapy in which the patient enters a deep meditative state in order to help them synchronize our conscious and subconscious minds.
  • Reiki: a Japanese form of energy healing.
  • Acupuncture: Ancient Chinese medicine that works by stimulating nerve-rich areas of the skin with tiny needles.

#5. Get A Psychic Reading

Psychic readings are a great for when you’re seeking clarity, guidance, or want to connect with loved ones who have crossed planes.

Psychics and psychic mediums work by stepping into your energy to communicate with your guides and spirit team to provide messages for your healing.

Where can you get a Psychic Reading around Buffalo NY?

  • Lilydale: Lilydale is a psychic community that was established in 1870! Nestled on Cassadaga Lake, just outside of Fredonia, NY – it’s home to 40 registered mediums, who provide readings on-premises and remotely. While some mediums take walk-ins, appointments are highly encouraged. Lilydale also hosts daily group readings during their Summer season and workshops all year long!
  • Santosha Holistic Center: Santosha is a holistic center in Williamsville, NY that offers services from different practitioners, like spiritual psychic readings, energy healings, counseling services, and workshops & events!
  • Spiritually Rooted: This is a great little metaphysical supply store located on Webster Street in North Tonawanda. They routinely host psychic fairs where folks can get a psychic reading.
  • From Caili! The human writing this post on Create it Collective is also a psychic medium and available for readings. Her readings are fully remote and can be booked by contacting her via social media.
