I’m always on the hunt for some new house plants. But I get bored of the same old ones from Home Depot and would also prefer to support local whenever I can.
So if you’re like me and also looking to spice up your house-plant tribe then look no further, friends, we’ve highlighted some of our favorite locally-owned shops in the list below!
Daddy’s Plants
Location: 1250 Niagara St. Suite B, Buffalo NY
Fairly new to Buffalo, Daddys Plants is filled with a mix of handpicked tropical and desert plants. The guys over here are very knowledgeable!
They have a wide selection of house plants varying in types AND sizes. (which I love because it can sometimes be tough to find large house plants locally.)
Angel Acres
Location: 2855 Angle Rd, Orchard Park NY
If you’re looking for a huge selection, especially of succulents, this is your place! Angle Acres has three large walk-in greenhouses filled with plants!!
SO SO many plants!
It’s located on the property of the owners which gives it a nice homey feel too. So if you need to fill your entire home with indoor plants, one trip here would do it!
The Plant Shack
Location: 618 Main St, East Aurora NY
The Plant Shack is a cozy little gift and plant shop located right on Main St. in the village of East Aurora.
Although the volume might not be as high don’t underestimate the charm and unique plants this place carries. They keep the health of our environment in mind and have a really good core mission statement.
A total win-win in my book.
Urban Roots
Location: 428 Rhode Island, Buffalo NY
Opened year-round, Urban Roots Cooperative is the only Cooperative garden center in the city of Buffalo, which is awesome.
As well as having a good plant selection, they offer free workshops and seminars during the winter months and have a great selection of nature-inspired gifts.
Also, every time I walk in here looking to buy a new indoor plant, the staff is SUPER knowledgeable and answers all of my “wait, so how often do I water this?” type questions.
